Learning from Losses Part 2 is a course by USCF expert Ryan Murphy in which he reviews his losses to identify key patterns in his mistakes on his way to breaking the USCF 2000 barrier.
In this course, the author focuses on psychological pitfalls and specific calculation errors that got in the way of his progress and how he managed to overcome them. Specifically, he looks at how to handle playing against higher rated players, how to address 'tunnel vision' and the 'quiescence error' when calculating, and how to make sure that your positions are 'playable,' in order to help you find natural moves and plans to avoid time trouble.
Ryan then makes recommendations on how to address these weaknesses in training. Besides the 4 video lectures, the author has included 4 PGN files with in-depth analyses, so that viewers can see the amount of detail that should go into analyzing their own games.
This course is best suited for intermediate and advanced level players (1200-1750 Elo) and has a run time of 1 hour and 59 minutes.
